No Winter Blues for the Essex Light Blues first official meeting
A night of fun, live music and charity at the inaugural meeting of the Essex Light Blues Association.
A night of Fun, Live Music and Charity was the order of the day for the inaugural meeting of the Essex Light Blues Association (ELBA).
ELBA members from as far a wide as Maldon, Dagenham, Thurrock and Rochford got together on Saturday 11th November at the Brewhouse & Kitchen in Chelmsford for the first time, to discuss what the Association meant to them.
The Essex Light Blues Association exists to bring new Freemasons, and those yet to be appointed to Provincial Rank in the Province of Essex together, to meet and socialise with each other both within and outside of a Masonic setting.
Brotherhood and unity were certainly the topics of conversation, and this was reflected in a great time being had by all well into the evening.
With their firm commitment to Community and Charity, over £250.00 was also raised on the night for both the Provincial ‘Movember’ appeal as well as the ‘Get Started’ Art Therapy Project.
Joined by founding member ProvGDC Dave Hawtin when discussing the success of the night, ELBA Chairman Jamie Barton commented “Tonight marks a big step in the journey of the Essex Light Blues. Until this point, we have only existed as a Facebook page. Today we have turned a corner and our members have come together in person. We’ve formed new friendships and raised money for two very worth causes. I’ve been blown away by the support we’ve received, and I can’t wait to arrange the next together”.
