The Pathway to Success is Paved with four new members at the Orsett Lodge

The Pathway Membership scheme is proving to be very successful introducing more, new members

The initiation of a Brother is always a special event but, the initiation of four on the same day is therefore, something truly special.

On the 5th of June 2023, Orsett Masonic Hall became the site of a monumental event that highlighted Freemasonry's growth in Essex. Orsett Lodge No. 5424 was thrilled to initiate four new brothers, showing there’s a bright future for the lodge.

The initiation, attended by Paul Tarrant, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master (PGM), accompanied by a Provincial Retinue, welcomed James Ball, Aaron Withers, Ross Challis and one other, into Freemasonry. This milestone was achieved through a collective effort. The lodge's own members recommended two of the brethren including Aaron Withers, while James Ball and Ross Challis were introduced through the Provincial Membership Pathway scheme.

Steven Joyce, the lodge's Pathway Membership Officer, has been very active in creating a Pathway profile and attracting new members to not only Orsett Lodge, but also Freemasonry in general.

The work performed was two double ceremonies, perfectly conducted by Robert Murray the Worshipful Master (WM), ably assisted by Graham Hill. Their confident leadership set the stage for two excellent ceremonies of Freemasonry. The Deacons Sam Connor, and Andy Chitty, performed their roles impressively. Adding to the team's efforts, the Wardens, Craig Noler, and Kevin Wheeler, carried out their duties with confidence and knowledge. The Working Tools were delivered clear and precise by Tom Kendle, and also the Charge by Kevin Wheeler. Additionally, Kevin was elected as the Worshipful Master Elect for Orsett Lodge's upcoming Masonic year.

The meeting included a very successful raffle that raised £468, coupled with other generous donations, a total of £708 was collected for charity.

This truly amazing meeting at Orsett Lodge No. 5424 proves the ongoing popularity of Freemasonry. The day left a resounding message: The lodge is expanding, and Freemasonry is thriving.
