Long standing member Paul Humphrey receives his 50-year certificate

A well-earned 50-year certificate presented to Paul Humphrey by the new Lodge honorary member

A recent meeting of the Blackwater Lodge No 1977 was honoured with a visit from Robert Eels, Assistant Provincial Grand Master (APGM), however, before he was admitted an additional item on the summons agenda took place, that of balloting for the APGM to be an honorary member of the Lodge.

The ballot of course was in his favour and on entering the Lodge was greeted by the Worshipful Master, Richard Saunders, who proudly welcomed him as an honorary member. Having been presented with a copy of the Lodge bylaws, Robert thanked the brethren and said, ‘He hoped to visit as a member in the not-too-distant future.’

After the regular business of the Lodge had taken place the APGM then invited Paul Humphrey to take the chair and be recognised for completing 50-years in the craft. After giving a brief overview of Paul’s career, the APGM presented him with his 50-year certificate together with a 50-year lapel pin and personal letter from the Provincial Grand Master, Paul Tarrant. Paul in thanking the APGM and brethren then, in his usual manner to every one’s delight, proceeded to explain how and when he had progressed through the ranks to reach the illustrious position he holds today.
