Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association Rally held at Hull Ionians RUFC

Essex bikers rally to create memories to last a lifetime at Hull Ionians RUFC on 28 to 30 July 2023

The exhilarating conclusion marked a resounding success, leaving participants with unforgettable memories and a sense of camaraderie.

Gary Murton of Urswyck Lodge No. 7947, which meets at Upminster, reports that among the standout moments the Iceni contingent of the Widows Sons, hailing from various Essex lodges, seized the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the festivities, creating a vibrant and electric atmosphere. Gary describes the most captivating highlights that defined this extraordinary event:

On Route to the Rally: Iceni members embarked on an enthralling expedition to Hull, tracing a picturesque route. Thursday arrivals opted for hotel comfort, gathering at the bar for delectable dishes and revitalizing drinks. Day 2 began with excitement, fueled by breakfast and a strategic stop, heading to Bridlington through enchanting landscapes. Friday departures reached the hotel safely or rallied at the campsite, forging bonds over laughter and toasts.

Super Saturday: Rally organizers orchestrated an exhilarating ride, with 60+ bikers exploring the scenic Yorkshire landscape. A midday break refreshed riders before their return to the Rally site by 1 pm.

Followed by: Widows Sons Lodge No. 10011 convened a robust meeting, drawing 270+ attendees, including two Provincial Grand Masters (PGMs), an Assistant PGM and numerous Grand Officers. The Lodge Master's warm welcome set the tone, and the PGM of East Riding of Yorkshire even briefly rode the Master's Motorcycle.

Saturday's entertainment commenced with a captivating presentation of the Presidents, accompanied by the distribution of new charters to the freshly appointed chapter presidents. The National Chairman also graced the stage with an enlightening talk. Subsequently, the atmosphere was abuzz with opportunities to relish abundant beer, live music from talented bands, and the company of fellow enthusiasts, ensuring a truly enjoyable experience.
