Essex Royal Arch Presentation Team and “Talking Heads”

The Essex Royal Arch Presentation Team can present "Talking Heads" at your Lodge meeting

This presentation is designed to be given in a Craft Lodge where there is no other ritual work on the Agenda or after a short ceremony. It lasts around 30 minutes and there are parts where the brethren, including the Royal Arch Representative, are encouraged to participate and promotes questions.

Delivered by members of the Essex Royal Arch Presentation Team, “Talking Heads” introduces the Royal Arch (RA) to Master Masons (MM) and encourages and stimulates the interest of those already in this beautiful Order. Written in “playlet” style it starts with the arrival of two brethren in the ante-room, ahead of a Lodge meeting. One is a fairly new MM, and the other an experienced Past Master (PM) and member of the RA. It takes the form of a question-and-answer dialogue between these two.

This is a presentation by three people - two conduct the dialogue and a Narrator makes introductions and “fills in” with various facts and figures, timelines, dates and events that are relevant to the dialogue as it progresses.  In essence the MM asks questions of the PM to find out about the RA, with the Narrator being asked to supply the historic details.

The MM is shown, and given an explanation of the RA Jewel, whilst the brethren get to examine Jewels of Companions near to them or pictures of it that are passed around. He also gets an explanation of the RA regalia, which the PM has with him in his case. There is a history of how the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) came into existence and why the RA is treated in the way it is, rather than being a fourth Degree.  This is followed by finding out what a MM misses by not being a member, and how he can join.
