The Earl of Warwick Lodge: Ken Elmes 50th Anniversary

The Brethren of The Earl of Warwick Lodge No. 2504 were delighted to welcome Martin Howse, their Assistant Provincial Grand Master (APGM)

The APGM presented a 50 Year Certificate to Ken Elmes who was Initiated into the Earl of Warwick Lodge on 4th June 1971 and was Master in 1980 and 1998. Ken was appointed as a Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies (PAGDC) in 2001.

In his presentation Martin Howse noted “Ken’s dedicated career of service to Essex Masonry, particularly to the Royal Arch”. Ken was appointed an Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals in 1998, Third Provincial Grand Principal in 2002 and Second Provincial Grand Principal in 2003. In 2009 Ken was appointed as Past Assistant Grand Sojourner (PAGSoj).

The presentation of the Certificate had been delayed by the COVID pandemic and the APGM also commented that it was an unusual certificate as it was produced at the due time and was therefore signed by Paul Reeves who was at that time the Deputy Provincial Grand Master (DepProvGM) in Charge for Essex. This was particularly appropriate as the PDepPGM is a member of Earl of Warwick Chapter which is also Ken’s Chapter.

After the meeting all the Brethren enjoyed a Christmas Festive Board which included carol singing.
