Saint Cedd Lodge ‘Saving lives and Scoring tries’

Saint Cedd Lodge No. 6519, keen to continue with their community engagement have purchased an Automated External Defibrillator

Saint Cedd Lodge No. 6519, keen to continue with their community engagement and assisted by the Essex Provincial fund-matching scheme, have purchased an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and cabinet sited on the sports pavilion at Cooper’s Company & Coborn School. This venue is used by many different sports teams in the surrounding area, both young and old, playing hockey, rugby, football and cricket.

The Upminster based Lodge, previously recognising the Rugby Football Union (RFU) core values of ‘Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline & Sportsmanship’ as analogous with the tenets of Freemasonry have supported the Mini and Youth Section of Old Cooperians RFC since they were formed in 2018. This enabled the team to cater for boys and girls of all ages from 7 upwards wishing to play rugby. The brethren of Saint Cedd provided the playing strip and equipment and recently watched on with a certain pride as the U13’s team recently won the Essex Waterfall Cup in a thrilling and hard-fought game against Romford and Gidea Park.
